Vision:
Our vision in the Geography department is to inspire and nurture curious, critical, and resilient geographers who are passionate about understanding the world around them. Through a carefully sequenced curriculum, we develop students’ knowledge of physical and human processes, enabling them to investigate pressing global challenges and make meaningful connections between people, place, and environment. We foster a spirit of enquiry and continual improvement, drawing on a rich variety of perspectives and experiences to build a collaborative and dynamic learning community.
We aim to cultivate a lifelong love of Geography by encouraging students to ask questions, explore diverse viewpoints, and evaluate evidence with precision. By building strong local and national links with schools, organisations, and communities, we enhance students’ sense of wonder for the natural and human world. We also aim to develop students with strong ties to the school and local community, fostering pride, responsibility, and active participation in the places they live and learn.
Our main goal is to empower students to think geographically, act responsibly, and contribute thoughtfully to their communities and the wider world, achieving both personal and academic success.
