Update for parents: Monday 30th March 5.30 pm

Dear Parents/Carers

I hope you had a good weekend and managed some semblance of normality. At least the supermarkets seem to have more items on the shelves again following the mass panic buying we saw a week or so ago.

Today we have managed to deliver the remaining packs to Year 7 students who did not take them before the shut down happened last Friday. Tomorrow we start on Year 8 and hope to finish them by Wednesday.

With the weather taking a turn for the worse we are trying a new strategy this week for Free School Meals. Families will be getting two days’ worth of food on a Tuesday and a Thursday which means less journeys up to school. We will review this at the end of the week to see how it has gone. There will be no FSM provision over the Easter holiday period as our caterers will be on holiday. We are also starting up a delivery service for FSM families who are self-isolating tomorrow with four staff kindly volunteering to come into school to take food round.

We are also looking at setting up a Helpline for those families who are finding things a real struggle at the moment. We will let you know more about this service once we have sorted out the logistics. Please remember we are always at the end of an email and we are willing to help in whatever way we can.
