WHAT ARE WE STUDYING

Year 7 will be learning the basic skills of how to be successful in Drama with the topic Serious Fun! They will focus on team work and how they can use Concentration, Cooperation and communication to help them in Drama lessons. They then will move on to look at Story Telling and how to create their own stories using Drama skills.

WHAT ARE WE STUDYING

Year 8 will re-visit Serious Fun with a re-mixed version where they learn trust falls and ensemble theatre. They will then move on to study ‘Haunted and Hunted’ where we will explore their use of atmosphere and tension through the skills of voice, movement and body language, ending the topic with a soundscape of a haunted house!

WHAT ARE WE STUDYING

Year 9 will start with learning all the basic skills and devices used to create interesting and thought-provoking pieces of theatre. They will study techniques used by professional theatre makers such as Frantic Assembly and DV8 Physical Theatre; leading to a final performance of the techniques they have learnt.

OTHER INFORMATION

Performances will be filmed for assessment purposed and students will take part in a reflective session once they have completed the performance.

WHAT ARE WE STUDYING

Year 10 will start by looking at Unit 1 BTEC Performing Arts industry. They will study three different theatre performances and look at how they were created and who created them. They will then go on to create a power-point presentation of their research and findings. They will then create a short performance based on one of the performances they have studied.

OTHER INFORMATION

This will be a MOCK assessment.
Performances will be filmed for assessment purposed and students will take part in a reflective session once they have completed the performance.

Year 11 will start by looking at Unit 1 BTEC Performing Arts industry. They will study three different theatre performances and look at how they were created and who created them.
